PSIP Opacity Testing
Are you in compliance with the California’s Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP)?
As of July 1, 2019, California Air Resources Board (CARB) reduced the opacity standards for all Heavy duty vehicles operating within the State of California.
Vehicles greater than 6,000 GVWR must be tested annually.
Opacity standards with a PM filter is 5%.
Vehicles without a PM filter depend on year of engine and range from 20%-40%.
